C2C HIGHLIGHTS
Christopher Newport's Barry Jones scored the lone goal of the weekend for Christopher Newport to give the Captains a 1-0 lead against Merchant Marine. He took on a defender on the right side, got by him and shot into the left of the goal for the first goal of the season by a CNU player… In Mary Washington's comeback 2-1 victory over NC Wesleyan, junior Elliot Berg netted the game-winning goal in the 85th minute. He received a long pass at the top of the 18-yard box, dribbled to his right, and used a powerful kick with his right leg to beat the Battling Bishops' keeper for the victory on Sunday… UC Santa Cruz's Michael Braun scored the game winning goal for UC Santa Cruz against Willamette to open the 2025 season while contributing to the Banana Slugs back-to-back shutouts to go 2-0 on opening weekend. He scored the first goal at the 11:34 mark en route to the 3-0 victory over Willamette… Warren Wilson's Ryan Kiser scored one goal and one assist in a 3-3 draw against Huntingdon College. He added three goals against MUW in a 5-0 win… Salisbury's Jacob Raring, the Odenton, Md. native, helped the Sea Gulls earn a draw and win on opening weekend. Raring helped the Sea Gull defense only allow one goal while he tallied 164 minutes on the back line between both matches… Mary Washington's Tristan Kickbush was solid in goal for the Eagles as Kickbush yielded two goals in two games. Against No. 24 Ohio Northern, Kickbush yielded an early goal, then recorded a pair of saves the rest of the way. And against NC Wesleyan, the same thing happened as Kickbush allowed an early goal and then was perfect the rest of the way.
