Salisbury Men's Lacrosse Secures Second Straight NCAA Men's Lacrosse Title

Salisbury secured its second straight national title and 11th since joining the Capital Athletic Conference in 1994-95 with a 15-7 victory over Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) on Sunday at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. 

The national title is the 12th overall in Salisbury men's lacrosse history and the 20th NCAA Division III crown for a CAC team in the conference's 27-year history. 

RIT led early on with a goal just over a minute into the contest, but Salisbury answered back minutes later with two goals in a 1:30 span to take a 2-1 edge, a lead they would not relinquish. 

The Sea Gulls eventually built a 6-4 advantage heading into halftime, and utlized a 6-2 edge in the third quarter to break open the contest. 

Carson Kalama led the SU attack with four goals and one assist, Josh Melton and Garrett Reynolds notched three goals apiece, Kevin McDermott notched one goal and three assists, and Nathan Blondino added one goal and two assists. 

Salisbury goalkeeper Colin Reymann made 12 saves in net to earn the win for the Sea Gulls.
