Salisbury and York Continue Rivalries in CAC Lacrosse Championships on Saturday
Salisbury and York will clash for both the CAC men's and women's lacrosse championships on Saturday, continuing a hotly-contested lacrosse rivalry between the two schools with conference hardware on the line.

On the women's side, top-seeded York (14-2, 8-0 CAC) will host second-seeded Salisbury (12-5, 7-1 CAC) in the championship game for the first time ever. The title game is set for a 1 p.m. start at Kinsley Field in York, Pa. It will mark the sixth time in the last seven seasons that York and Salisbury have met in the title game, with Salisbury having won each of the previous six meetings.
The Spartans posted their first-ever perfect conference regular season after handing Salisbury its first conference loss since 2002, ending the Sea Gulls' 101-game regular season winning streak with a 10-6 victory in York on Apr. 12. York defeated fifth-seeded Christopher Newport 10-8 in last Saturday's CAC semifinals to advance to the title game. Salisbury downed third-seeded Mary Washington 11-5 in the semifinals. The Sea Gulls are seeking their 15th straight conference title during Saturday's matchup, while the Spartans are looking for their first.

For the second straight year and the third time in the last four years, top-seeded Salisbury (16-1, 8-0 CAC) will host second-seeded York (16-2, 7-1 CAC) for the CAC men's lacrosse crown at Sea Gull Stadium in Salisbury, Md. The Sea Gulls will be looking to avenge last year's title game loss to the Spartans. York defeated Salisbury 10-9 for the program's first-ever CAC championship last season. The Sea Gulls then went on to win the national championship, the 11th in program history.
During the 2017 regular season, Salisbury downed York 17-10 in Salisbury on April 12, handing the Spartans their only conference loss of the season. Salisbury topped fourth-seeded Mary Washington 22-9 in last Saturday's semis, while York ousted third-seeded Christopher Newport 19-9. The Sea Gulls will be aiming for their 20th CAC title on Saturday.
