Salisbury Ousts York 12-6 in NCAA Men's Lacrosse Second Round
For the second time in eight days, Salisbury topped York on its home turf as the Sea Gulls ousted the Spartans 12-6 in the NCAA Second Round on Saturday at Sea Gull Stadium.
Salisbury advances to the Elite 8 on Wednesday, May 14 and will face off against the Denison, an 11-8 winner over Aurora, with a spot in the Final Four on the line.
Donovan Lange (3g), Rhett DePol (2g, 2a, 3 gb) and Luke Phipps (2g, 2a) led the Salisbury (19-1) attack. Alex Taylor earned the win in net for the Sea Gulls, turning back five shots.
Tyler Hutson paced the Spartan attack with a hat trick in the defeat.
The two sides battled back-and-forth in the first half, with Salisbury taking a slight 6-5 edge into the halftime intermission.
Leading 8-6 entering the fourth quarter, the Sea Gulls outscored the Spartans 4-0 in the final frame to earn the victory.
