For the third time in the last four years, Salisbury and Stevenson will do battle in the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championsihp tournament.  For the second time in three years, the Gulls and Mustangs will meet in the national semifinal.

Top-ranked and defending national champion Salisbury beat Cabrini, 14-4, while 5th-ranked Stevenson stopped Denison, 14-7, to set up Sunday's showdown at Salisbury for a trip to the national championship game.

At Salisbury, All-American midfielder Sam Bradford scored the first three goals of the game - all unassisted - and finished with seven points on six goals and an assist as the hosts defended home turf against Cabrini.  The victory was the 400th in the illustrious career of Salisbury head coach Jim BerkmanEric Krum added three scores and two helpers while Matt Cannone chipped in two goals and three assists as the Gulls improved to 21-0.  Salisbury put the game away by taking a 6-2 lead at halftime and scoring the first five goals of the third quarter.  The Gulls' defense held Cabrini to one goal in each quarter.

At Stevenson, Tyler Reid scored three-straight unassisted goals in the final 7:03 of the second quarter as the Mustangs broke loose for an 8-3 lead at the break on the way to a 14-7 triumph over Denison.  Reid finished with a game-high five goals and added an assist while Stephen Banick added four goals to lead the Mustangs (18-4).  Denison closed the gap to four goals on three occasions in the second half before Stevenson's Nick Rossi contributed an assist (Justin Lee goal) and his second goal of the game - both within 45 seconds midway through the second half - to put the game away.

Salisbury has won both previous meetings against the Mustangs this season (11-10 regular season and 12-9 in CAC title game) and three-straight, including the Gulls' 16-14 win over the Mustangs in the 2011 CAC Championship Game at Owings Mills, Md.

In NCAA Tournament action, Stevenson beat Salisbury 11-9 in the national quarterfinals in 2009 before dropping a 12-7 decision to Gettysburg in the semifinal round.  In 2010, the Sea Gulls outlasted the Mustangs 14-13 in overtime in the national semifinals before falling to Tufts in the title contest (9-6).  Last year, the teams did not play in the NCAA Tournament and the Gulls went on to get revenge against Tufts with a 19-7 victory in the national championship contest.
