Stevenson Men's Lacrosse Loses To Visiting Roanoke, 13-12, In NCAA Quarterfinal Round

Roanoke College scored twice in the last three minutes, including the game-winner with just 14 seconds left, to gain a 13-12 victory over host Stevenson University Wednesday in the quarterfinal round of the 2011 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Tournament.

Tyler Reed and Tony Rossi each scored four times for Stevenson (18-3), which scored the first three goals of the fourth quarter to take a 12-11 lead with 9:50 left in the game.  Ray Witte, who won 20 of 29 face offs during the contest, and Jimmy Dailey each scored twice for the Mustangs.

Roanoke (17-3) was led by Jeff Keating with a game-high five goals.  Joey Coretti added three goals while Mike Hayden chipped in one goal and a game-high three assists.

Roanoke goalie Charles Pease was the difference in the game, rejecting 22 of Stevenson's 57 shots.  Mustang keeper Ian Bolland stopped 14 of the 42 shots he faced.

It was the third-straight year Stevenson advanced to at least the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Tournament.
