Christopher Newport captured its third straight CAC Golf Championship on Sunday at Bay Creek Resort in Cape Charles, Va., led by individual champion Sam Robinson and three golfers among the top four finishers. 

The Captains totaled 936 strokes throughout the three-day event to defeat second-place Marymount (957) by 21 strokes. With the victory, CNU earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship. The NCAA Championship will take place from May 10-13 in Rochester, N.Y. This marks the first time in the CAC's history that its champion earns an automatic bid to NCAA's. 

Penn State Harrisburg took third place with 1,003 strokes, followed closely by York in fourth at 1,009. Rounding out the team finishes were Wesley in fifth (1,066), William Paterson in sixth (1,088) and New Jersey City in seventh (1,140). 

Robinson fired scores of 74-76-79 for a three-day total of 229, edging out teammate Joey Corlett (232) by three strokes to claim the individual crown. Robinson becomes the third straight CNU golfer to win the individual title, joining Johnathan Howard (2014) and Matt DiSalvo (2015) as champions.

Matt DiSalvo also finished in the top five for Captains, claiming fourth at 236, while Harry Nodwell (7th/240) and David Rabil (t-8th/244) grabbed top-10 placings. 

Marymount's Cody Jameson finished third at 234 to lead the Saints, while teammate Keegan Boone placed fifth at 237 after carding a 77 in Sunday's final round. Mason Carmel tied for eighth place for MU with a three-day total of 244. 

Penn State Harrisburg was led by solid finishes from Tyler Massar, Keith Miller and Tyler Shenk, who placed 10th through 12th, respectively. Massar finished 10th at 248, Miller took 11th at 250, and Shenk tied for 12th at 251. 

York's Tyler Newton led the Spartans with a sixth-place individual finish, tallying 238 strokes throughout the event including a final-day 78.
