York Captures Team Honors At The Alvernia Golf Tournament; Sophomore Ryan Wolbach Leads The Way With Third-Place Finish
York sophomore Ryan Wolbach carded a six-over-par 78 to finish third overall, two strokes off the winning pace, and lead the Spartans to the team title at the Alvernia Men's Golf Invitational Tuesday.
York's team score of 318 in the one-day tournament was 10 strokes better than the second-place host Crusaders (328) in the 14-team tournament.
Penn State Harrisburg tied Rutgers-Camden for seventh place, each with a score of 341. Tyler Serres tied for 13th place individually with a nine-over-par 81.
Elsewhere, Christopher Newport competed in rain-shortended Emory Invitational, tying Rhodes College for ninth place (score 305). Methodist posted a 291 to win the title. Patrick Johnson led the Captains with a one-over-par 73, tying for 10th place in among the individual leaders.
