St. Mary's Senior Guard Alex Franz Gains NABC First-Team All-Region Nod
St. Mary's senior point guard Alex Franz, the CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Year, was named to the first-team 2011 All-Middle Atlantic Region squad by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).
Franz, a three-time All-CAC honoree, led the 25-5 Seahawks to their third conference championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in the last four years. He was also named the 2011 Regional Player of the Year by D3hoops.com
He led the 2011 Seahawks in scoring (15.5), three-point goals made (51), free throws made (94), assists (154) and steals (90).
