Wesley Men's Basketball Falls At Lebanon Valley Saturday In ECAC South Semifinals, 84-71
Joe Meehan, Anthony Troutman and Danny Brooks combined for 71 points as Lebanon Valley upended Wesley 84-71 in the ECAC South Semifinals.
Meehan scored a game-high 27, while Troutman added 24 and Brooks had 20. No other player on the Flying Dutchmen had more than six.
Darrell Johnson (New Castle, Del./Howard) had 26 points, nine rebounds and four steals for the Wolverines (18-11) and Eric Selby (Wilmington, Del./Howard) came off the bench for a career-high 16, but it was not enough to overcome a 57 percent shooting day by Lebanon Valley (22-7).
The Flying Dutchmen scored the game's first seven points, but Wesley whittled it to one point, 31-30, after a free throw by Rasheed Carter (Philadelphia, Pa./Lankenau) with 2:58 left in the first half.
Meehan scored the final eight Lebanon Valley points of the half as the top seed built its lead to 44-35 at the intermission.
Paul Reynolds (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna) scored 12 points and Kevin Johnson (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna) added 10 to give the Wolverines four players in double figures.
Wesley closes the season with 18 wins, one less than the school record set a year ago and tied with the 2008-09 team for the second most in school history.
