Three CAC Field Hockey Players Named NFHCA All-Americans; UMW's Steele Earns First Team Honors

Complete NFHCA All-America Team 

A trio of CAC field hockey players were named to the Longstreth / National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-America team, announced Monday. Mary Washington senior Jenna Steele headlined the CAC's selections on the first team, while UMW senior Haley Kane and York sophomore Ali Posey were third team honorees. 

Steele, the CAC Player of the Year, gains All-America honors for the first time. Steele ended her career as UMW's all-time leader in goals (69) and points (163), after scoring 23 goals and adding four assists this season. She earned all-region honors for the fourth straight year, and third straight time on the first team. She was a first team All-CAC selection as well. Steele led the CAC in goals (23) and points (50) in 2015. 

Kane gains All-America honors for the second straight year, after collecting all-region honors for the fourth straight time and finishing third in UMW history in assists. She finished with 36 goals and 28 assists, good for 100 career points. She was a first team all-conference pick as well. Kane led the CAC in assists with 11. 

Posey became the first York player in program history to earn All-America honors. She ranked third in the CAC in goals (18) and points (41) this fall. Her 18 goals is tied for second on York's single-season list while her 41 points tied for third. In two seasons, Posey has totaled 69 points on 30 goals and nine assists and is a two-time first team All-CAC selection and two-time all-region pick. She also earned CAC Rookie of the Year honors in 2014.
