With just a few weeks remaining in the regular season, playoff races around the CAC are heating up as we enter the home stretch.

All 10 CAC cross country teams will compete this weekend in their final tune-up for the CAC Championships - set for Saturday, Nov. 1 - while 16 CAC matchups are on the slate in field hockey, men's soccer, women's soccer and volleyball.

Cross Country

Wesley will open the weekend's cross country slate on Friday at the Delaware State Invitational. On Saturday, CAC squads will compete at four different meets, including Christopher Newport, Southern Virginia and York at the CNU Invitational. Four squads will also be heading to the Gettysburg Invitational. For the full cross country schedule, click here. 

Field Hockey

Christopher Newport hosts Centre in non-conference action on Friday, with pair of CAC showdowns on Saturday and one on Sunday. On Saturday, St. Mary's (3-0) travels to Mary Washington (2-0) in a battle of the unbeatens, with York (1-1) set to host Salisbury (2-0). Both matchups are set for 1 p.m. starts. On Sunday, Wesley (0-3) hosts Frostburg State (0-3) as both sides seek their first conference wins of the year.

Men's Soccer

Four CAC showdowns are on Saturday's slate, with one on Sunday. Saturday's schedule begins with a 1 p.m. contest between host Marymount (1-4) and Penn State Harrisburg (2-3). In the late afternoon, York (1-3-1) travels to Southern Virginia (1-4) at 3:30 p.m. and St. Mary's (3-2) hosts Wesley (2-3) at 4 p.m. In day's final contest, Christopher Newport (3-0-2) hosts Mary Washington (3-2) at 7 p.m. 

The lone Sunday matchup features first-place Salisbury (4-1) at Frostburg State (3-1-1) in a 2 p.m. kickoff.

Women's Soccer

The women's soccer weekend kicks off on Friday as Wesley (2-3) hosts Frostburg State (3-2) at 7 p.m. Four contests are set for Saturday, beginning with St. Mary's (3-2) at Penn State Harrisburg (1-4) at noon. Salisbury (4-1) hosts Mary Washington (2-2-1) at 1 p.m., while Southern Virginia (1-4) hosts York (3-1-1), also at 1 p.m. 

Christopher Newport (5-0) looks to remain unbeaten as it hosts Marymount at 5 p.m., rounding out the day's action.

Volleyball

Another jam-packed Saturday of volleyball awaits the 10 CAC squads, including a pair of tri-matches with some non-conference competition. 

The early-bird special features Wesley (1-3) hosting Frostburg State (1-3) at 11 a.m. as both squads need a win in the fight for a playoff bid. Penn State Harrisburg (0-4) travels to Christopher Newport (4-0) for a noon start. A trio of contests begin at 1 p.m. - Marymount (4-0) at York (2-2), Southern Virginia (3-1) at Salisbury (0-4), and Mary Washington (2-2) at St. Mary's (3-1).
