Christopher Newport Junior Belle Tunstall Named NFHCA South Region Player of the Year
Christopher Newport junior Belle Tunstall has been awarded as the South Region Player of the Year by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. The accolade marks yet another postseason award for Tunstall, who was also named the CAC Co-Player of the Year, first team All-Region and first team All-CAC.
Tunstall has helped guide the Captains to their first-ever NCAA Final Four appearance with NCAA victories over Centre (1-0) and Catholic (1-0) last weekend.
The forward leads the CAC with 18 goals and 47 points, while also ranking second in the conference with 11 assists.
Tunstall and CNU will face off against Bowdoin in the national semifinals on Friday at 11 a.m. in Virginia Beach, Va.
