Wesley College Head Field Hockey Coach and Associate Director of Athletics Tracey Short was one of seven individuals honored at the Delaware Diamond Extravaganza Friday night at the Sheraton Dover Hotel.  Also honored was Alex Becton, Dr. Jan Blade, Holly Bramble, Gaby Brengle, Frankye Satchell and Dr. Fred Wyman.

The Delaware Diamond Extravaganza (DDE) began in 2009 as a way to recognize, celebrate and honor individuals in the state of Delaware that have helped women's athletics grow and excel in addition to creating additional scholarship and financial support to aid female athletics programs.  The DDE identifies coaches, administrators, athletes and contributors who meet the following criteria:

o   Over 10 years commitment to women's athletic programs
o   Activist for Title IX and gender equity
o   Enhanced life skills knowledge through women's athletics
o   Former player actively involved with women's athletics within the Delaware community

Both Bramble and Wyman coached the Wesley tennis teams during the Wolverines junior college era. Head women's lacrosse coach Debbie Windett, a past DDE honoree, was also in attendance and was recognized.
