CNU’s Maxie, SU’s Williams Receive C2C Weekly Baseball Honors
The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the second week of the 2026 baseball season. Christopher Newport's Aaron Maxie claimed C2C Player of the Week merit, while Salisbury's Cole Williams earned C2C Pitcher of the Week honors.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Aaron Maxie, Christopher Newport
Christopher Newport junior Aaron Maxie drove in five runs in back-to-back games during the D3 Showcase in Greensboro, N.C., helping lift CNU to wins over Marietta and No. 13 Cortland. In a wild, back-and-forth extra-inning win against Marietta, Maxie obliterated a three-run home run into the towering scoreboard in right field, tying the game at 9-9. He also had an RBI single earlier and an RBI double in the game, finishing 3-for-6 with a walk. In a dominant 17-5 win against Cortland, Maxie saw the plate six times and was productive in all six. He went 5-for-5, setting a career-high with five hits in a game, and rapped three doubles to tie for the second most in a single game in CNU history. He drove in five runs again, scored twice, and added a sacrifice fly. For the week, he was 9-for-16 (.563) with an 1.556 OPS, 10 RBI, and 4 runs scored.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Cole Williams, Salisbury
Salisbury junior Cole Williams delivered 3.2 scoreless no-hit innings in relief to pick up the win in the Sea Gulls' 4-1 triumph over third-ranked Denison on Saturday. Williams walked two and punched out one on 53 pitches against the high-powered Big Red bats.

C2C HIGHLIGHTS
Salisbury's Nathan Tondreault went 3-for-7 with a double, RBI, two runs, and three stolen bases in the Sea Gulls' split at the D3 Showcase on Saturday. In the opener against third-ranked Denison he went 2-for-5 with a double, run, and RBI… Mary Washington's Collin Clarkson went 4-for-9 in a Saturday doubleheader with John Carroll. In Game 1, Clarkson collected a pair of singles, and scored a pair of runs, while stealing a base. In Game 2, Clarkson singled twice more, walked once, scored one run and stole one base. In the field at shortstop, Clarkson was perfect in 12 chances… In his lone appearance this week, Mary Washington's Gavin Riley yielded just one run in 4.1 innings out of the bullpen in Game 1 against John Carroll. In those 13 outs, Riley worked around four hits and three walks, yielding just one run. He also struck out five and was perfect in his two chances as a fielder.
