Six from CAC Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large Teams

Six CAC student-athletes have been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large team, announced Thursday afternoon.
Honorees included a pair of men's tennis players - Christopher Newport's Arttu Fiva and Mary Washington's David Lunding-Johansson, and a pair of women's lacrosse players - York's Megan Strauch and Salisbury's Megan Wallenhorst. The honor is the third straight for Strauch and second in a row for Wallenhorst.
UMW's Haley Kane received All-District recognition for field hockey, while St. Mary's Cara Machlin earned the honor for women's swimming.
The At-Large team includes nominations for athletes from fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wrestling. The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
First team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second-, and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
