Christopher Newport’s Alyssa Dozier and UC Santa Cruz’s Luke Holland Claim C2C Senior Scholar-Athletes of the Year Recognition

The 2025-26 Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Senior Scholar-Athletes of the Year have been selected. The recipients are below:

Female Senior Scholar-Athlete Award: Alyssa Dozier, Christopher Newport

Dozier, a senior middle blocker from Arlington, Virginia, earned a perfect 4.0 grade-point average and graduated cumma sum laude with bachelor's degrees in history and political science.  She became the first Captain in any sport to be a three-time First Team Academic All-American as recognized by the College Sports Communicators. Dozier was also the first NCAA Division III volleyball player to ever accomplish the feat. She was named the C2C Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2025 and is a three-time Academic All-Conference pick.  On the court, Dozier earned first team All-America plaudits from the AVCA in 2025 to cap a three-time All-American career.  She also picked up AVCA Region Player of the Year, C2C Player of the Year - for the third straight year - and Defensive Player of the Year honors this season.  Dozier recorded 406 kills (3.69 per set), 507 points (4.61 per set) and 129 total blocks (1.17 per set). She ranked seventh nationally in attack percentage at .400, the third highest in CNU history, and was the only player in DIII with a percentage that high on at least 800 attempts.  She is the program's all-time leader in blocks (490).

Male Senior Scholar-Athlete Award: Luke Holland, UC Santa Cruz

Holland, a senior from San Luis Obispo, California, majored in molecular cell and development biology.  He repeated as the C2C Scholar-Athlete of the Year in both men's indoor and outdoor track and field this year.  Holland won the men's cross country individual title for the second straight year and guided the Banana Slugs to their fifth consecutive C2C Championship.  He was tabbed back-to-back conference runner of the year and placed 25th at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships to earn All-American honors.  At the C2C Indoor Championships, Holland claimed gold in both the 3,000- and 5,000-meters.  He also won the 5K at the league's outdoor championships to record the 10th C2C individual title in his career.  In total, Holland was a part of six C2C championship squads with four cross country titles along with one indoor and one outdoor crown.
