The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the fourth week of the 2022 softball season. Christopher Newport senior Kaitlyn Hasty earned C2C Player of the Week accolades, while Christopher Newport freshman Kate Alger claimed C2C Pitcher of the Week honors.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Kaitlyn Hasty - Christopher Newport

Christopher Newport senior Kaitlyn Hasty went 7 for 10 for a .700 average in four CNU victories. Three of her seven hits were home runs and she drove in 11 runs in wins over Kean, Juniata, and two over Muhlenberg. Her on base percentage for the week was .714 and slugging percentage 1.800 as the Captains remained unbeaten and ranked ninth in the nation.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Kate Alger - Christopher Newport

Christopher Newport freshman Kate Alger had a 2-0 week for the undefeated and ninth-ranked Captains, throwing 11 shutout innings vs. Kean and Muhlenberg. She struck out 18 batters in 11 frames and yielded just four hits and two walks.

PLAYER: Emma Schieda (UMW)

LEAGUE NOTES

Sophomore Emma Schieda led Mary Washington at the plate in their Friday doubleheader with Bridgewater College, hitting a pair of home runs. She was 2-5 in the doubleheader, adding a walk in the second game, and accounted for two of UMW's seven hits on the day.
