2022 C2C Women's Basketball All-Conference Awards Revealed

The 2022 Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Women's Basketball awards have been announced. The following are this year's honorees, as voted on by the league's head coaches:

Player of the Year: Sondra Fan - Christopher Newport
The D3hoops.com Preseason All-American has led the top-ranked team in the nation on both ends of the floor this season. Fan leads the league in three-point shooting percentage (.432) and is among the top shooters in the nation this season. She is averaging a team-high 14.0 points per game while appearing in fewer than 20 minutes per game. On the defensive side, Fan has helped lead the "Captains Chaos" defense again in 2021-22, with 49 steals. The senior guard has scored in double figures in 16 of 21 games played including five performances of 20 points or more.

Defensive Player of the Year: Ashley Martin - Mary Washington
Mary Washington junior Ashley Martin was named C2C Defensive Player of the Year after registering 111 rebounds as a guard, while adding 33 steals and nine blocked shots on the perimeter for the Eagles. She helped UMW limit opponents to 57.1 points per game, and 34.1% shooting from the field.

Rookie of the Year: Maija Rice - Finlandia
Finlandia freshman Maija Rice had a strong freshman season for the Lions in which she averaged 6.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.3 steals a game while shooting 71.1% from the line. Rice scored in double figures five times and had at least five rebounds in the last six games. She recorded 11 points and 10 steals (second best in school history) against Great Lakes Christian (Dec. 11).

Scholar-Athlete of the Year: Bailey Froberg - Finlandia
Finlandia senior Nursing major Bailey Froberg averaged 15.7 points per game, 36.6% from behind the arc and 78.2% from the free throw line. Froberg scored in doubles figures 17 times this season with a career-high of 30 against UW-Superior (Feb. 15).  She ranked third in the C2C in scoring and fifth in field goal and free throw percentage. Froberg was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District First team, just the third athlete in school history to be honored.

"Bill Finney" C2C Coaching Staff of the Year: Christopher Newport - Head Coach: Bill Broderick
Head coach Bill Broderick continued to raise the bar for CNU women's basketball in 2021-22 by guiding the Captains to the top of the national rankings for the first time in program history. Riding a program-record 39-game winning streak into the C2C Championship Tournament, Broderick and the Captains registered an undefeated 22-0 regular season. It was just the second time in CNU Women's Basketball history that the Captains have posted a perfect run through the regular season and CNU remains one of only three teams in NCAA Basketball, men's or women's, without a loss on it's ledger. Along the way, Coach Broderick won his 200th career game at CNU.

The all-conference teams are listed below:
