The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the fifth week of the 2021 men's basketball season. Salisbury sophomore Jordan Oates earned C2C Men's Basketball Player of the Week accolades.

MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jordan Oates - Salisbury

Salisbury sophomore Jordan Oates nearly continued his streak of double-doubles, falling one rebound shy with a 21-point, nine-rebound performance against The Apprentice School on Dec. 4, going 8-of-14 from the floor and 4-of-8 from three. Oates maintained his double-double average, he is averaging 14.8 points per game and grabbing 12.1 boards per game. His 12.1 rebounds per game ranks among the top-15 in the nation and his 9.3 defensive rebounds per game ranks in the top-10.

C2C HIGHLIGHTS

Christopher Newport sophomore forward Trey Barber led the Captains to a 22-point home victory over Averett on Saturday by scoring a team-high 19 points, as well as pulling down eight rebounds and blocking three shots. He compiled those numbers despite playing just 23 minutes vs. the Cougars. The Captains, ranked 17th in the country, are now 6-2 and the victory was the squad's third straight...Senior Anias Saunders averaged 14.0 PPG and eight rebounds per contest as Mary Washington won a pair of games and ran its win streak to seven straight. He scored 18 points on 7-11 shooting (including 4-5 three pointers) in a 70-63 win at Methodist, and added 10 points and seven rebounds in a 70-52 win over Marymount. For the week, he shot 52.4% from the floor, including 50% from three-point range (6-12).
